My daughter and family, who live in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, waited until they were home for Christmas in 2010 to have their daughter, Mara McGavern, baptized at Saint Mary’s Cathedral by Deacon, Art Mitchell.
It was a wonderful experience for us all. The Cathedral was a magical place to be. The warmth of the people, the beauty of the church, and the grace of the baptism made for an experience that my family talks about to this day with their friends and family in Australia.
