More than simply a beautiful building, more than just a parish, Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica has been a welcoming space for Roman Catholics and people of all faiths for almost 200 years. We know that many of the visitors to the Basilica and to this website have wonderful memories of their life events large and small that have taken place at Saint Mary’s.

Did you, your parents or your grandparents get married at Saint Mary’s?

Did anyone in your family become a temporary Saint Mary’s parishioner when they were stationed in Halifax during the war?

Have you ever attended a particularly memorable mass or other ceremony at Saint Mary’s?

We invite you to share your stories and photographs with us to help ensure 200 years of history and community are not lost. After all, your stories are our stories, too.
