Denver & Supriya DPenha
As new immigrants to Canada, Denver DPenha and his family have wholeheartedly embraced the community they’ve found at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica.
Having lived in Halifax for less than a year, Denver, his wife Supriya have already marked several family milestones at Saint Mary’s. The renewal of their wedding vows on their 10th anniversary was a very special celebration. This year, their daughter, Kierra received the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
Denver uses the words of St. Francis de Assisi to sum up his connection to the cathedral and the community he has found there: “For it is in giving, that we receive”. Having been welcomed as a faithful member of the St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica community, Denver felt able to give something back to his community and in doing so, he has come to understand that he can help lessen the burden of others. “Outreach has made me count my blessings and be grateful for what we have.”
